School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering


The School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering at Wuhan University of Bioengineering offers three undergraduate programs: Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation; Robot Engineering; and Automotive Service Engineering, as well as two Vocational Education programs: Mechatronics Technology and Electromechanical Equipment Technology. Among them, the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation program has been selected as a provincial first-class undergraduate program construction site and participates in the Jingchu Excellent Engineer Collaborative Education Program.


The School has always been committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents with the characteristics of “double self-innovation and entrepreneurship” (self-reliance, self-discipline, innovation, and entrepreneurship). It emphasizes the cultivation of students' good learning habits and professional capabilities, and has established more than 10 professional experimental and training rooms, including Mechanical Principles, Mechanical Design, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission, Industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), General Metalworking, Automotive Engine Disassembly and Assembly, Numerical Control Machining, Electrical Machining, and Smart Manufacturing Training Rooms (jointly built with enterprises). The School has established good school-enterprise cooperation relationships with well-known enterprises such as Mengniu Dairy Wuhan Co., Ltd., Wuhan Jiaduobao Beverage Co., Ltd., Winner Medical (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Lantu Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., Advantech Co., Ltd. (China), Wuhan Changhai High-Tech Co., Ltd., Huizhou Sanxie Precision Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Baolun Electronics Co., Ltd. It has also jointly established an “Excellence Engineer Class” with Huagong Zhengyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., and built more than 20 stable off-campus internship and employment bases with enterprises in economically developed regions such as Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, forming a stable school-enterprise collaborative education mechanism.


Adhering to the school motto of “Leaving a mark when treading on stones, and leaving an impression when grasping iron,” the School strives to enhance students' comprehensive qualities. Outstanding student role models have emerged, including Wang Xu, recipient of honors such as the “National Pioneer Youth in Rural Revitalization,” “Hubei Youth May Fourth Medal,” and “Hubei Upward and Virtuous Youth”; Yuan Weicheng, awarded the titles of “Hubei Provincial Technical Expert” and “Hubei Provincial Youth Post Expert (Competition Category)”; and Ding Minggang and Ge Chang, who joined R&D positions at Fortune 500 companies. Over 100 students have been admitted to renowned national universities such as Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Dalian University of Technology for further studies. Graduates are highly sought after by employers and primarily engage in product R&D, technical management, production management, and equipment management/maintenance in industries such as mechanical manufacturing, electronic technology, transportation, and modern services. Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (Undergraduate, Four-year Program, Bachelor of Engineering Degree)

Professional Advantages and Characteristics:In 2017, the program was approved for the “Jingchu Excellence Talent” Collaborative Education Program of Hubei provincial general undergraduate universities. In 2019, it was approved as a Hubei Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Site. Guided by the *National Teaching Quality Standards for Undergraduate Majors in General Higher Education Institutions* and combined with the university's orientation, it has established three talent cultivation models: a basic model meeting national teaching quality standards, a “3+1” school-enterprise collaborative model (3 years of campus study + 1 year of enterprise internship), and a craftsmanship-oriented model based on the “1+X Certificate System”, to meet the talent needs of mechanical manufacturing industries across the national economy.

Graduates are mainly employed in Hubei and economically developed regions such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong. Automotive Service Engineering (Undergraduate, Four-year Program, Bachelor of Engineering Degree)

Professional Advantages and CharacteristicsThis program is established to adapt to the needs of economic and social development and meet the demands of the post-automotive service era. It has training rooms for automotive structure disassembly, detection, and diagnosis, and has established school-enterprise cooperation relationships with renowned enterprises such as Dongfeng Lantu Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. The program focuses on cultivating students' practical skills in automotive detection, maintenance, and beauty, while systematically teaching knowledge in automotive marketing and management to ensure systematic and diversified talent cultivation.

Robotics Engineering (Undergraduate, Four-year Program, Bachelor of Engineering Degree)

Professional Advantages and CharacteristicsThis program aligns with national development needs and international trends, featuring strong cutting-edge, comprehensive, and practical characteristics as a new engineering discipline. Students primarily study fundamental theories of mechanical design, industrial robotics, and intelligent control technology, receiving systematic training in structural design, debugging, and system analysis of industrial robots. They master application technologies of industrial robots, with a focus on cultivating capabilities in system debugging, maintenance, and repair of industrial robots in production sites.

Graduation Employment Fields:Mainly oriented towards intelligent manufacturing, social services, and other fields, graduates can engage in positions related to industrial robotics research, development, and application in enterprises and institutions, such as industrial robot design, assembly, debugging, maintenance, online programming, as well as the design and application of industrial robot automatic production lines.


Mechatronics Technology (Vocational Education, Three-year Program)

Professional Advantages and CharacteristicsThis program focuses on cultivating students' practical capabilities in mechatronic products. Through training in ordinary machine tools, numerical control machine tools, industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC), hydraulic and pneumatic transmission, and electrical maintenance, students will develop the ability to use and maintain mechatronic equipment.

Mechatronic Equipment Technology (Vocational Education, Three-year Program)


Professional Advantages and CharacteristicsThis program focuses on cultivating students' practical operation capabilities in the maintenance and upkeep of mechatronic equipment and automobiles. Through systematic training in metalworking, ordinary machine tools, automobile engine maintenance, automotive beauty, and electrical equipment repair, students' hands-on skills are comprehensively exercised and enhanced.

School of Software Engineering


The School of Software Engineering of Wuhan University of Bioengineering offers three undergraduate programs, namely Software Engineering, Big Data Management and Application, and Digital Media Technology, as well as one Vocational Education program in Software Technology. The school has been approved for 1 Ministry of Education Supply-Demand Docking Employment Education Project; 1 Hubei Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Site; Hubei Provincial Ordinary Higher Education Institutions' Strategic Emerging (Pillar) Industry Talent Training Plan and Hubei Provincial Service Outsourcing Talent Training (Training) Base; and approved for 1 provincial teaching team for “Programming Course Group” and 1 provincial first-class online-offline hybrid course.


The School focuses on cultivating high-quality applied talents with the “Double Self and Double Innovation” (self-reliance, self-discipline, innovation, entrepreneurship) spirit, and attaches great importance to enhancing students' professional skills. It has 8 professional laboratories, including Big Data Laboratory, Software Engineering Laboratory, Computer System Architecture Laboratory, Information Management Laboratory, Computer Software Laboratory, Computer Application Laboratory, and Computer Network Laboratory. Additionally, it has established the “University Students' Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Base” and the “University Students' Mathematical Modeling Base”. In recent years, students have won more than 140 awards in competitions such as the China “Internet+” School Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National School Students Mathematical Modeling Competition, and the Lanqiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Competition.


The School attaches great importance to industry-education integration and actively promotes school-enterprise collaborative education. With a total of over 500 experimental projects in e-commerce, social platforms, and transportation big data, it supports hands-on practice with Hadoop, Spark, R, SAS, Python, and big data projects, enhancing students' practical competence.
