The School of Computer Science and Technology is one of the earliest-established Schools at Wuhan University of Bioengineering, currently educating over 3,700 full-time students. As a key School focusing on information technology education, it offers three undergraduate programs—Computer Science and Technology, Network Engineering, and Internet of Things Engineering—and two junior School programs—Computer Network Technology and Computer Application Technology.

The School has obtained significant provincial-level recognition including one Hubei Provincial First-Class Discipline Construction Site, one Hubei Provincial Strategic Emerging (Pillar) Industry Talent Development Program, one Provincial First-Class Course, one Provincial Teaching Team, one Hubei Provincial Service Outsourcing Talent Development Base and one MOE Supply-Demand Matching Employment-Oriented Education Project.

With a faculty team of over 160 members, the School features a dynamic teaching-research combination of senior professors, middle-aged backbone educators and young doctoral professionals. It is equipped with eight professional laboratories and over 3,000 sets of high-performance computing devices, as well as two student development platforms: School Students' Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Base and School Students' Mathematical Modeling Base. In recent years, students have won over 310 awards in national competitions such as the China “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the National School Students Mathematical Modeling Competition, with many receiving provincial honors for outstanding academic achievements and bachelor's theses.

        The School attaches great importance to industry-education collaborative education, establishing long-term partnerships with more than 200 provincial and national listed companies and renowned enterprises, including Lenovo Group, Qi Anxin Technology Group Co., Ltd., Chinasoft International, and Baidu Baijie Group. Some outstanding graduates have joined global and domestic leading enterprises such as IBM, Huawei, and Alibaba as technical managers or key technical personnel, with the quality of talent cultivation widely praised by society. In recent years, a large number of undergraduate graduates have been admitted to master's programs at “Double First-Class” universities such as Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, and Central China Normal University. The School has also cultivated more than 10 advanced student models, including “Chinese School Students Self-Improvement Star”, “Hubei Upward and Virtuous Youth”, “Hubei Most Beautiful Freshman Pacemaker”, and “Yangtze River Scholars”.
