School of Architectural Engineering
The School of Architectural Engineering consists of 4 teaching and research offices (Civil Engineering, Engineering Cost, Civil Design, Mechanics and Structure), an Civil Engineering Practice Education Center, a BIM Technology Modern Industrial School, a Construction Decoration Industrial School (under preparation), and a Smart Construction Technology Research Center. It offers 2 undergraduate programs (Civil Engineering, Engineering Cost) and 2 junior School programs (Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Cost). The Civil Engineering program has been approved as a provincial first-class undergraduate program, the Engineering Cost Teaching and Research Office has been awarded the first batch of “Provincial Excellent Grassroots Teaching Organizations”, and the School’s Party General Branch has been recognized as an “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in Hubei Province”.
The School has a faculty team predominantly composed of doctoral and master’s graduates from key universities, boasting profound professional expertise and extensive industry experience. Among them, there are 31 professors and associate professors, 9 senior engineers, 13 doctoral degree holders, 8 first-class registered construction engineers, 2 certified cost engineers, and 71 faculty members with master’s degrees or higher. In recent years, exemplary educators such as Liu Qun (“Jingchu Good Teacher”) and Huang Shichao (“Most Beautiful Industrial Teacher”) have emerged as outstanding role models within the faculty.
The School has independently designed an Engineering Training Center that integrates multiple functions, including teaching, scientific research, experimentation, communication, and a maker platform. With a total investment exceeding 30 million RMB and a construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters, the center houses an Engineering Software Center, Measuring Instruments Laboratory, Soil Mechanics Consolidation Laboratory, Soil Mechanics Shear Laboratory, Model Laboratory, Aggregate Laboratory, and other facilities. It also possesses a full set of BIM cost estimation and construction software as well as simulation systems valued at over 4 million RMB, capable of meeting the needs of experimental teaching, scientific research, and professional innovation and entrepreneurship education for civil engineering-related disciplines.
The School has established a school-enterprise collaborative education community by partnering with renowned industry enterprises, including China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group, Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co., Ltd., Tianhua Central China Civil Design Co., Ltd., Glodon Company Limited, Shenzhen Grandland Group Co., Ltd., Leadgin Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Hubei Haitian Times Technology Co., Ltd. Through extensive school-enterprise cooperation, it has jointly built a Smart Construction Engineering Technology Research Center, a Beidou Surveying Joint Laboratory, and specialized training programs such as the “Tiesiyuan Tunnel Experimental Class,” “Shanghai Tunnel Shield Experimental Class,” “Tianhua Experimental Class,” and “Chuanggao Experimental Class.” The internship and training base co-established with the Wuhan Yangluo Economic Development Zone has been approved as a provincial-level internship and training base. Over 700 student participations have won national awards in various disciplinary competitions, including the China International School Students Innovation Competition, Advanced Engineering Graphics Competition, and BIM Design Competition, with nearly 200 national champions. The graduate employment rate has remained stable at over 90%. Through years of exploration and practice, the School has cultivated a large number of high-tech talents urgently needed by the industry, earning wide social acclaim.

Civil Engineering(Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program, 4-year curriculum,Bachelor of Engineering Degree Awarded)
Professional Advantages and Characteristics: Focusing on the development trend of the intelligent construction industry and BIM technology and concepts, the program adopts an industry-education integration model to optimize the curriculum system and cultivate high-quality applied talents in the field of civil engineering. Over 40 industry experts are appointed as visiting professors, industrial professors, and craftsman professors to participate in guiding practical teaching (including graduation design) for the civil engineering major.

Engineering Cost (Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program, 4-year curriculum, Bachelor of Management Degree Awarded)
Professional Advantages and Characteristics: The program has established a school-enterprise collaborative education platform in partnership with over 30 large and medium-sized enterprises. Adopting a whole-process project-driven training model, it has set up various project studios and co-constructed 3 national and provincial benchmark laboratories. Professional teaching uses real engineering cases as teaching materials, enabling students to participate in actual engineering projects during their studies and achieve zero-transition employment upon graduation.

Civil Engineering Technology (Junior School Program, 3-year curriculum)
Professional Advantages and Characteristics: Guided by the “1+X” vocational skill assessment standards, the program implements a dual certification system combining “vocational skill certificates” and “junior School graduation certificates”. It provides comprehensive practical training to cultivate applied talents with strong hands-on capabilities and solid technical skills.

Engineering Cost (Junior School Program, 3-year curriculum)
Professional Advantages and Characteristics: The program adopts a school-enterprise collaborative training model, focusing on enhancing practical skills in professional software operations such as 3D modeling, quantity survey and costing, and project management. Aligned with the assessment criteria for Level 2 Cost Engineers, it cultivates students’ hands-on capabilities to deliver senior technical personnel for enterprises.
